Advent 1, a large steel-framed development in Manchester City Centre with 144 properties, IRS Construction were awarded this contract after a comprehensive tender process again these family homes underwent a huge fire remediation refurbishment which was funded by the Building Safety Fund.
IRS Construction secured the contract to replace combustible elements with newly design engineered non-combustible materials, encompassing render, copper, and timber cladding with a new External Wall Insulation (EWI) system, again whilst being sympathetic to the original building design.
This design responsibility allowed us to explore alternative materials, ensuring equal or better performance ensuring all elements of the installation project were fully compliant with the new EWS1 guidelines. Despite challenges such as the busy city centre location, 7-storey blocks, and proximity to water bodies, meticulous planning and a comprehensive Health and Safety Plan facilitated successful project completion leveraging our supply chain and local storage facility.
