A seven-year External Wall Insulation framework covering the length and breadth of Scotland including the islands, delivered one property at a time for the households who need it most.
What the job involved
IRS was appointed to the External Wall Insulation framework in 2017, and reappointed in 2023 through a competitive tender. The work aligns with the Scottish Government’s goal of transitioning to a Net Zero society: a low-carbon living environment that also substantially reduces heating costs and addresses fuel poverty directly.
Our involvement spans the whole job, from initial site survey and pre-installation building inspection including critical detailing, through Building Warrant submission and completion, to client sign-off and handover packs.
These are one-off properties spread across the whole country, islands included, so every one is effectively a mini programme of works with its own logistics. That is the part most contractors avoid and the part we take on.
This framework is important to the team because it reaches the people who need it most, and because it has run long enough to become a genuine partnership rather than a contract.
