IRS Construction is a specialist Principal Contractor delivering Façade Remediation and Fire Safety Compliance, External Wall Insulation and Whole-House Retrofit across occupied residential buildings.
The business grew from hands-on expertise in Scotland into increasingly complex building-envelope, remediation and retrofit work, while keeping the practical construction knowledge that shaped it from the start.
From Scottish EWI roots to complex remediation.
Before IRS Construction, there was Insulated Render Systems (Scotland).
The business began with practical expertise in External Wall Insulation and the building envelope, delivering projects across Scotland and building an outstanding reputation, project by project.
As the work became broader, more complex and more highly regulated, the business evolved. From EWI into wider envelope works, Façade Remediation and Fire Safety Compliance, Whole-House Retrofit and Principal Contractor delivery.
The name changed because the scope changed. The practical expertise underneath it didn’t.

These are projects where design, regulation, materials, sequencing, resident impact and evidence are closely connected. Getting one part right while losing control of another isn’t enough.

Brendan Collum founded the business in 2013. The leadership team has since been strengthened, and the current structure is set out on the team page.
