What the job involved

Following a successful tender, IRS was appointed specialist principal contractor to upgrade these council tenure properties: a new triple glazed window solution, a new Epsitec specialist ventilated External Wall Insulation system and a complete new roof covering.

Thorough surveys allowed our in-house design team to produce drawings, SER calculations and certification, which secured the Building Warrant. With a timber substrate, meticulous design and detailing of firebreaks was critical, alongside a ventilated design that keeps the substructure well ventilated while retaining heat.

IRS recommended and installed the Wetherby Epsitec system: lightweight and suited to timber frames, allowing adequate ventilation and carrying full BBA certification. That met OFGEM’s PAS 2030 and PAS 2035 requirements, which is what let the client access the funding.
