What the job involved

IRS was appointed by Cunninghame Housing Association and Warmworks to install External Wall Insulation to around 100 homes in North Ayrshire. The Association’s commitment aligned with government goals on climate change, and the work was aimed at the impact of energy price increases on tenants and at combating fuel poverty.

The scope covered installation of an External Wall Insulation Epsitec rail system, service alterations, and the formulation and execution of a ventilation strategy.

The work was delivered to a high standard and significantly improved the appearance of the homes as well as their performance, backed by a 25-year SWIGA guarantee.

WHY IT MATTERS

Fabric first work on social housing is where a warmer home and a lower bill are the same intervention. That is the point of the scheme, not a by-product of it.
