A whole house retrofit in Portobello for the City of Edinburgh Council: external wall insulation, complete roof replacements, new windows and doors, fire proofing and an upgraded ventilation system, with residents in place throughout.
What the job involved
A comprehensive retrofit covering External Wall Insulation, complete roof replacements, new windows and doors, new anti-slip surface coatings, alterations to gas supply services, loft insulation top ups, balcony screen replacement, walkway ceiling fire proofing, new secure entry doors, new stair entry fire doors and an upgraded ventilation system.
All works were completed to the client’s quality standards, with regular contract progress meetings and Key Performance Indicators achieved throughout.
Residents came out of it with significantly improved thermal efficiency, real cost savings and a 25-year insurance backed SWIGA guarantee behind the work.
This project needed a lot of internal access, so IRS put its in-house Customer Care Team and a Resident Liaison Officer on it to keep communication and resident engagement running through every visit.
