Founder of Wetherby Wall Systems joins the façade remediation specialist to lead its commercial and financial growth.

IRS Construction has appointed Bob Deane as Joint Managing Director, alongside Founder and Managing Director Brendan Collum, as the façade remediation specialist enters a new phase of growth. Deane will lead the commercial and financial side of the business.

Deane founded what became Wetherby Wall Systems, building the business over almost five decades into one of the UK’s leading external wall insulation and render systems suppliers, ahead of its acquisition by the ROCKWOOL Group in 2024. He retired from the business in January 2026.

Having worked closely with IRS for years on the specification of façade systems, Deane has seen firsthand the quality, compliance and delivery standards that have underpinned the company’s growth on occupied Higher-Risk Buildings.

He joins IRS Construction to lead the commercial and financial side of the business, helping steer its next phase of growth while protecting the delivery standards that define its work.

Brendan Collum, Founder and Managing Director of IRS Construction, said:

“Bob built one of the biggest names in this industry from the ground up. Having someone with that experience choose to join IRS, at this stage of our growth, says everything about the standard we’re holding ourselves to.”

Bob Deane, Joint Managing Director, said:

“I spent nearly fifty years on the specification side of this industry, and you learn quickly which contractors actually deliver what’s designed, especially on occupied buildings, where the standard has to be right every time. IRS does that consistently. That’s what brought me back.”
